They have proven to be far more independent with an outsized influence in the local community than their affluent urban counterparts. To help their parents cope with the seasonal work load associated with agriculture; children as young as 9 years old need to take on adult responsibilities such as caring for siblings, grocery shopping and preparing meals for the entire family. Therefore, the time these children spend at school is a matchless opportunity for us to empower them with the knowledge and means for optimal nutritional health and life-changing hygiene habits. Children who successfully adopt our JAPFA for Kids programs will not only live healthier lives, achieve more at school but grow up to be agents of change in their communities.
